It's done! / na endlich...

Barack Obama is the next 44th President of the United States of America!!! Even though I was not allowed to vote for him I am still allowed to have an opinion. I am just so excited for this new start for this country and the world. I just saw his inauguration (here at work we had a huge screen set up in one of our lecture halls for everybody to see who wanted to see and the lecture hall was full!!!) and once again I can only say that I am impressed with this man. There is unfortunately too much expectation upon him and it will be impossible to meet all of them so disappointment is going to happen. Nobody could fill those kinds of shoes. But I sure think he is the best person to try. Quite frankly: if I were him I would not even know where to start - there are so many messes out there. It looked like Bush could not wait to get outta there... I don't blame him. It must be uncomfortable for him to see these masses of people for his successor. No cheering for him... And Cheney cracked his back while packing his own moving boxes??? Are you kidding??? Does anyone believe a person of the status of Cheney would attempt to pack and carry his own moving boxes??? I don't think so. Unless in the boxes were highly top secret documents that still needed shredding... Good riddance - that is all I have got to say.

Hurra!!! Obama ist der naechste President der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. 2 Millionen Besucher waren heute in Washington, um die Inauguration live mitzuerleben. Wahnsinn! Wenn ich Barack waere, wuesste ich nicht mal wo ich anfangen sollte: es ist einfach zuviel, dass wieder hergerichtet werden muss. Aber wenn das einer machen kann, dann ist das wohl Barack. Jedenfalls erscheint er mir so als koennte er was hinkriegen. Bush ist sofort nach der oeffentlichen Feier mit einem Hubschrauber abgeholt wurden, um nach Texas zu fliegen. War wohl alles ein wenig zu unkomfortabel fuer ihn. Und dann sagt man hier, dass Cheney beim Umzug seinen Ruecken verletzt hat und er deshalb im Rollstuhl sitzt. Wer glaubts, wird seelig. Ich kann nicht ernsthaft glauben, dass Cheney selbst Umzugsboxen gepackt und geschleppt hat. Ausser wenn da vielleicht was top secret drin war, dass noch schnell vernichtet werden muss. ich kann nur hoffen, dass Obama soviel wie moeglich so schnell wie moeglich wieder hinkriegt.
