In Germany all kids get ready for a big day on December 6 because Nikolaus is visiting overnight to deliver some treats and little toys/stuff for all kids. For that purpose the kids have to shine their boots (December 5) and put them in front of their beds. The boots are important because this is where Nikolaus will put his treats. Without the boots Nikolaus might not know where to put his stuff and just leave without leaving anyhting. It is a cute tradition, which I try to keep going for my kids. Amelie wasn't so sure about having Nikolaus come to her bedroom so she put her boots in front of her bedroom, which I thought was fine and sure enough: Nikolaus delivered some cool stuff. The pictures below are both kids sleeping peacefully and then the picture of what Nikolaus left for them. Well, all the stuff was really only for Amelie. I promise Alex herewith that she will be included next year!!! The other picture is our various tries to get a good Christmas card pic going...
Dezember.
