1st Prize for Amelie / Amelie hat den ersten Platz belegt

Seit Tagen war ein Malwettbewerb angesagt in Amelie's Kinderhort in ihrer Schule. Jede Klassenstufe wurde bewertet und heute wurden die Gewinner bekanntgegeben. Amelie hat den ersten Preis in der Kindergartenstufe gewonnen! Was sie auf dem Bild in der Hand haelt war der Preis, den sie gewonnen hat. Ich weiss nicht, wieviele Kinder aus der Kindergartenstufe am Malwettbewerb teilgenommen haben, ich weiss aber, dass Amelie fuer ihr Alter sehr gut malt und besonders gut ausmalen kann. Sobald sie von der Schule nach Hause kommt, setzt sie sich meisstens auf den Fussboden im Wohnzimmer und faengt an zu malen. Sie malt sehr wohl proportioniert (sogar ihre Menschen) und denkt auch an saemtliche Details. Seit zwei Jahren geht sie jetzt schon zum ausserschulischen Unterricht an unserem Clevelander Kunstmuseum und hat unheimlich viel Spass daran. Da duerfen wir immer nie eine Stunde verpassen. Als wir sie zum Fussballspielen oder zum Baseball angemeldet haben hat sie das nicht gestoert, wenn wir eine Stunde verpasst haben. Die Begabung fuer's Malen hat sie von ihrem Papa. Egal, ich bin ganz stolz!!!!

For days now they had a coloring contest going on in Amelie's aftercare program in her school. The teachers judged all the artwork of all the kids per grade. So Amelie was in competition with all the other Kindergarden kids who participated. Today was 'judgement' day and Amelie won first prize. I am not bragging but I am not surprised that she one in her age group. Amelie colors and draws all the time. As a matter of fact: she comes home from school and the first thing she mostly does is plop down on the living room floor and start drawing/coloring. She is very good at it and she loves doing it. She pays very good attention to detail and everything is in proportion. Her choice of colors is sometimes really unique and I sometimes truly believe I am looking at a picture of a five year old - not to mention my own child. Well, I can honestly say that she has that talent from her dad. Amelie has been taking art classes at our world known Clevelander Art Museum and we are never allowed to miss a class. When she did soccer or was doing softball she really could not care less if we were not able to go to one of the training sessions. But it is different with her art class. I am rather proud!!!
