Florida 2009

Wir sind gestern (am Freitag, den 13.!!!!) von Cleveland nach Naples in Florida geflogen. Besser gesagt, wir sind von Cleveland nach Fort Myers in Florida geflogen und dann mit dem Mietauto noch 20 minuten gen Sueden nach Naples. Wir sind bei -7 Grad losgeflogen und bei 26 Grad gelandet. Man weiss immer nie was man anziehen soll. Shawn's Mutter und Stiefvater haben in Naples ein Haus und da duerfen wir eben im Fruehjahr fuer eine Woche oder so vorbei. Der Flug war super und beide kids haben sich sehr gut benommen. Das erste was die Amelie gemacht hat, als wir im Haus angekommen sind war in den Pool zu huepfen. Heute waren wir in Naples downtown zur St. Patrick's Tag Parade. Diese ist wohl die zweitgroesste St. Paddy's Parade im Osten der USA. Und ich kann auch bestaetigen, dass diese Parade unheimlich lang und sehr unterhaltsam ist. Wir haben uns alle in gruen angezogen und haben laut geklatscht. Obwohl ich muss auch sagen, dass es fast ein wenig zu heiss war. Ich versuche morgen die Bilder in den blog aufzuladen. Jetzt sitze ich hier vor Sherry's Computer und Shawn und ich gehen gleich noch weg und um uns mit Shawn's Stiefbruder Brandon und seiner Freundin Lauren zu dinner und Kino zu treffen ("Slumdog Millionair"). Ich war seit Ewigkeiten nicht mehr im Kino. Alex schlaeft schon. Ich hoffe, das bleibt auch so.

We flew yesterday from Cleveland to Ft. Myers and on via rental car to Naples, Florida. We left Cleveland at 27 F and arrived in Ft. Myers at 8oF. I never know what to wear. But that is not really a big problem. In any case: the first thing Amelie did was jump in Grandma's pool. The flight went very well and both Alex and Amelie did very well. today we went to Naples downtown to view the big St. paddy's day parade. This parade was huge and long and hot but a lot of fun. They threw candy and green necklaces and sang songs - it was all very entertaining. Today again it was so warm. What a difference between Cleveland and Naples. Shawn is contemplating driving to the Florida Eastside to view the shuttle launch, which is scheduled for tomorrow evening. We will see. I would love to this if it were not for the long ride AND the possibility that the launch might not happen. I will post pictures tomorrow. Shawn and I are still leaving tonight to meet his step brother Brandon and his girlfriend Lauren for dinner and a movie ('Slumdog Millionaire").
